Therefore, everyone should have a lifebuoy. Just as you have a fire extinguisher, wearing a ski helmet or life jacket.
You who have a pool or bridge are responsible for the security around it. A lifebuoy is your safety if the accident has occurred. It is easy to throw in, and thus give floating assistance in an unpleasant and dangerous situation. Of course, it does not replace the important factor supervision, your presence and attention.
You as a lifebuoy holder are responsible for the fact that lifebuoy and line are whole and work. Therefore, you need to invent the safety equipment every year. Ensure that lifebuoy and throw line are functional for each new bathing season.
The Act on Protection against Accidents, LSO, (SFS 2003: 778), describes that owners or users for buildings or other facilities to a reasonable extent must keep equipment to save lives. What is a reasonable extent is described in SRVFS 2007: 5. Pools and similar facilities shall be equipped with the safety devices needed with regard to the plants location and nature (Ordinance Act (1993: 1617) Chapter 3, Section5). For fixed pools and ponds, with water deeper than two inches, protection against accidents is required (Boverket's building rules (2011: 6) - regulations and general advice, section 8: 951).
